Project Overview & Consultation

When your house is perfectly nestled between parklands and the beach then renovating seems like the only reasonable thing to do. Our client had already found the ideal location and just needed a house they could call their forever home.

 

The extensive renovation included a complete redesign of the existing floor plan, new roofing and decking as well as some architectural touches to really enhance the street appeal.

Concept & Design

The existing home was a 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom 1970’s original, and while functional, did leave plenty of room for improvement. The plans, prepared by studiohals, completely transformed both the interior and exterior to create a home a beautiful as it is functional.

 

The new floorplan took full advantage of the split level design; the lower ground floor was transformed into a self-contained living space, complete with external access while the ground floor was a expertly executed to incorporate both working and living spaces. The final piece of the puzzle was the addition of a beautiful deck as a true compliment to the Mount Martha lifestyle.

 

The renovation wouldn’t have been complete without the stunning external transformation which included new double glazed windows, rendering and new roofing.

 

The end product is a forever home that will be enjoyed for many years to come.

Project Management

Due to the extensive nature of the renovation there were many aspects that needed to be considered and timing was of the essence.

 

We worked to a tight schedule which was constantly revised and updated and were able to overcome some tricky landscaping complications to ensure the project continued as planned.

 

We know that once a renovation starts, some variations are inevitable and we pride ourselves on taking the time to ensure that the finished product is exactly how our clients imagined it even if that means some mid-project revisions.
