Sometimes the best things come in small packages and this project was the perfect representation of that. We took a 2 bedroom unit and turned it into a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home all under the original roof line. The finished project delivered a beautifully bright and open space with a new kitchen, open plan living dining and a master suite with walk in robes and ensuite with his and hers vanities.
The plans, cleverly prepared by Murley design, were the epitome of space optimisation. We borrowed space from an unused double garage to create a new bedroom and main bathroom while the old laundry and bathroom were used to create the ensuite and Walk-in robe for the master suite. The old, closed in kitchen was also removed and replaced with a beautifully open kitchen including a newly added island bench.
While we were had at work costing out the project, our clients invited some real estate agents over to gather ideas and potential prices for the house if it was renovated or unrenovated. The best price they were told for an unrenovated house was $1.3m. We ended up doing the entire renovation for just under $240,000 and they sold it for $1.9m. How’s that for three months of hard work? The client was, of course, absolutely delighted.
