Camberwell

Project Overview & Consultation

This large scale home renovation in Camberwell was undertaken in 2 stages.

Stage 1 : We renovated the Master Bedroom, including knocking out old fire place to make the room larger. We moved the existing ensuite into the spare bedroom and turned the turned the ensuite bathroom into a beautiful walk in robe.

Stage 2: This involved turning the old run down laundry into a Butler’s Pantry and moving a doorway in the main bathroom to under the stairs. We then turned the laundry into a more convenient, space-efficient European laundry and moved it into the main bathroom.

Concept & Design

We carefully guided our clients through the possibilities of what could and could not be done within the boundaries of budget and the physical structure. Having initially considered the idea of extending out to the side of the house, we recommended a more cost-effective option.

Instead, we moved the ensuite to the spare bedroom, which was not getting used and backed onto the existing ensuite. We then removed a wall between the old small walk-in-robes and old ensuite to create an absolutely stunning masterpiece.

Project Management

Being a very old house, the renovation was a little more extensive than others. However, this project was completed in just over 6 weeks including the lead time on the joinery for the walk-in-robes. Clear communication with the client, and effective project management was the key to achieving this outstanding result in such a short time.

Project Completion & Outcomes

When we handed over this project, our clients were so  delighted they asked us to renovate their main bathroom. Our client also wanted a Butler’s Pantry in place of her old, run down laundry near her kitchen and so the ideas started to flow. Our solution was to move the laundry to the main bathroom and transform it into a European style laundry. We then used the existing laundry space to create the Butler’s Pantry. Finally, we moved the doorway to the main bathroom, which also made the main bathroom more private from the kitchen area.
